Travis Massingill is a professional headshot photographer based in Red Oak, Texas, serving the greater Dallas-Fort Worth area. He specializes in studio headshots for professionals, executives, actors, attorneys, real estate agents, and job seekers. Travis has been a Professional Photographers of America (PPA) member for over 15 years and has worked on corporate photography projects for brands including Louis Vuitton, JCPenney, and PepsiCo.

It started in October 1975, deep in the East Texas Piney Woods at a family reunion. A cousin handed an 11-year-old Travis a Canon SLR loaded with 35mm film. With a few quick instructions, he spent the day photographing cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents with the kind of fearless enthusiasm only a kid can pull off. By the end of the day, his parents had been informed he was going to be a photographer when he grew up, right alongside his plans to be a pilot, scuba diver, explorer, and a Texas Ranger. A camera was too expensive for a school teacher's kid, so the dream was shelved. But it never really went away.

Fast forward to 1994. A family friend visited Travis and his wife in the Houston suburbs and spent the weekend snapping photos with a Canon SLR, the same kind he'd used as a boy. When she came back from the one-hour photo with stunning prints and mentioned she'd bought the camera used at a pawn shop, something clicked. Within a year Travis had his own Canon AE-1. He devoured photography books, magazines, and articles, teaching himself everything he could. He photographed his kids, their soccer games, T-ball, basketball, and BMX races. He gave away thousands of prints of other people's children over the years. The feedback was consistent: his pictures were as good as, or better than, anything people had paid for professionally.

When COVID hit in early 2020, Travis made a deliberate shift toward headshot photography. With people working from home, anxious about crowded spaces, and leaning harder into their online presence, the demand for quality headshots was growing fast. He built a private studio and began working by appointment only, one client at a time. TRG Headshots was born from that pivot.

Today, Travis runs a fully equipped studio at 401 Roan Lane in Red Oak, TX, serving clients via appointment only from across the DFW metroplex. His work reflects decades of self-taught craft, a sharp eye for light, and a genuine interest in helping people show up confidently in their professional lives.
